- BITS, the program, started out as a small programmer's aid to help see the
- differences between ASCII and EBCDIC and to be able to see BITS on and off
- when looking at Boolean Logic (AND/OR/XOR, etc.). Now it's the kitchen sink.
-
- Now, bits can do math, although it was never intended to be better than a pop-
- up calculator. BITS can look at two dates and figure the days in between.
- BITS can help the BASIC programmer (like me) to figure out those pesky INKEY
- combinations, BITS can give you PI very quickly, and can even be a Timer for
- you.
-
- BITS can do a lot. Look at the MENU when you run it.
-
- Try it the next time you need to look some trig function thing up in a math
- book --- BITS will be faster.....and BITS doesn't COST anything to own because
- I say so. ....which leads me to another undocumented feature of BITS. Try to
- talk to it, but don't curse at it, please. Bits has a smidgeon of artificial,
- artificial intelligence. You can sign off in many languages and phrases, too.
- In other words, ADIOS works as well as BYE or QUIT or Q or ????....
-
- The only thing wrong with BITS is that you wouldn't want to leave it on your
- hard disk because it takes up almost 100K -- sorry about the size. Leave it
- on a spare, 25 cents, 360K floppy and keep it next to your Encylopedia.
-
- It's in Public Domain and you can give this to anyone for free.
-
- -------- If you are receiving this by modem, you have gotten it all --------
